Since becoming more educated as to why RedCap is so unique, flexible and more affordable than traditional personal drivers and taxis during the process of them becoming a client of Golden Gate BPO, I recently joined and have been blown away by the quality and “awesomeness,” as they say, of the service.
Our first use of RedCap involved my wife and I going out for a dinner one Saturday night with another couple. We decided to use the “one-way” service since we planned to head over to South Beach in my car from our residences in Weston, a 45-minute drive, and all of us looked forward to sharing a bottle or 2 of wine with a nice dinner without having to worry about a safe and responsible drive back to our homes. We set up the pick up time in advance via their web site, were at the restaurant by 8:30PM and had a great time. About 15 minutes before our set pick up time, I received a text from RedCap informing us that the driver was in route and we could track his/her whereabouts by clicking on a link. As we finished our meal and were in the process of paying our check, I received another text from Maria, our assigned driver that night, letting us know she was waiting for us right outside the restaurant and was ready to drive us home, as soon as we were ready. We walked out of the restaurant and right away saw Maria at the valet stand in her classic RedCap hat, and professional uniform. She greeted us with a smile and we all got into my car with Maria at the helm. She had a GPS with her all programmed up so the driving directions were all covered. Maria was respectful, polite and a fine driver. And, my wife, our friends and I had a great time chatting the whole way home. She first dropped our friends off and then pulled us into our driveway, gave us our keys and hopped into a car that met her in front of our house to take her back to her vehicle.
My second time using RedCap involved a “round-trip” for a business trip. I needed to be at Miami Airport by 8AM on December 3rd and then picked back up at MIA on December 8th. I set up the round-trip on the web site the day before with my flight information and got a confirmation email shortly thereafter. The driver arrived 10 minutes prior to the pick-up and was waiting for me outside the house with his own vehicle parked in front. He introduced himself and made sure his car was parked in an acceptable place. After that, he loaded my bag into the trunk and drove me to MIA in my own car. We made the plan that he would hold onto my keys, since my wife had a second set, and keep them safe at the RedCap offices. This would be more convenient and provide my wife peace of mind in that she would not have to concern herself with remembering to leave the keys for RedCap when they returned on December 8th to retrieve my car back at my house in order to pick me up at the airport. When I landed at MIA at 9:30AM (30-minutes early) on December 8th, a text was waiting on my phone with a link to the location tracker which showed me where my driver was. As soon as I cleared customs, I received a text from my driver, Hugo, that he was pulling into the airport and would go to the cell phone waiting area until I was ready and would wait for my call. I called him right away and told him where I would be…within 5 minutes he was pulling up in my car, which is a nice benefit to recognizing your driver at a crowded airport. The trademark RedCap hat helps as well. He pulled over to the curb, said hello, put my bag in the car and we were off. Hugo was extremely courteous, made sure I was comfortable and we were off with him behind the wheel. I checked some emails, made some calls and had some nice conversation with Hugo along the way. Before you knew it, we were pulling into my driveway and he was helping me with my bag, returning the keys to me and leaving in his car he had left at my house earlier when retrieving my car for the pick-up. Mission complete. Each way was about $40 cheaper than my previous driving service and in my own car, which I enjoy much more than the traditional Lincoln Town Cars provided by most personal driver services.
I am officially a loyal “RedCapper”!
